Druckfarben Group actively continues its support for Omada Aigaiou: A new residence for the doctor of Chalki

Another meaningful initiative to enhance healthcare provision across the small and remote Aegean islands

True to its commitment to tangible social contribution, Druckfarben Group - of which KRAFT Paints is a member—continues to stand by Omada Aigaiou for yet another year, backing initiatives that address the real and enduring needs of remote island communities.

Following KRAFT Paints' contribution to the complete reconstruction of the "Doctor's House" in Ano Koufonisi in 2025, the partnership with Omada Aigaiou continues this year on the island of Chalki, through the creation of a brand-new, standalone residence for the resident physician serving the island.

The new "Doctor's House" was built from the ground up, adjacent to the Multipurpose Regional Clinic of Chalki, designed to provide the local doctor with stable, dignified, and complimentary accommodation throughout their tenure on the island. The residence represents a vital piece of infrastructure for Chalki, as securing suitable and affordable housing is an essential prerequisite for attracting and retaining healthcare professionals on small and remote islands—particularly during high-tourist seasons.

This initiative holds even deeper significance, as the project was carried out in memory of the beloved Omada Aigaiou volunteer, cardiologist Pantelis Varelas, serving as a heartfelt tribute to his dedication, contribution, and ethos.

Completing a project of this scale on a small, remote island requires extensive coordination, collaboration, and substantial backing from multiple stakeholders. The joint efforts of Omada Aigaiou, along with its donors and supporters, made the creation of this permanent infrastructure possible, generating a lasting social footprint and actively improving the conditions required to safeguard healthcare delivery on the island.
